Sri Ayyeppen grew up around mathematics, architecture, and entrepreneurship in Chennai. Electrical engineering brought him to telecommunications in Dallas, where the complexity of selling and servicing large technology systems exposed a problem that existing tools did not solve well. He built Keste around that opening, expanded through Oracle and Salesforce work, and later helped combine the business into Argano. His interview connects technical problem-solving with the less visible work of entrepreneurship: deliberate practice, hiring and retaining great people, adapting quickly, and learning to lead through other leaders.
The moments that
shaped the path.
Engineering as a way of thinking
Ayyeppen moved from an early interest in architecture toward electrical engineering because he enjoyed mathematics, systems, and tangible problem-solving. After beginning a telecommunications career in Dallas, he earned a master's degree at UT Dallas and deepened the technical foundation he would later apply to business.
A complicated problem becomes Keste
Telecommunications sales combined hardware, software, engineering, manufacturing, and ongoing service in deals worth millions. Seeing how difficult that complexity was to manage, Ayyeppen recognized that other companies faced the same problem. Keste grew from a useful solution into a major Oracle and Salesforce partner with tens of millions in revenue.
From solving to enabling
As the organization scaled, Ayyeppen's role changed from personally building solutions to coaching leaders, reviewing forecasts, and developing talent. He credits long-tenured people, adaptability, and deliberate practice. He also stresses knowing when to pivot: accepting that one approach failed is not abandoning the ambition—it is protecting the chance to find a better one.

Five ideas worth keeping.
- 01
Problem-solving improves through deliberate practice: define, break down, test, and learn.
- 02
A business does not need a completely new invention; making an existing solution meaningfully better can create real value.
- 03
Exceptional performers take ownership through obstacles instead of returning every decision to someone else.
- 04
As responsibility grows, leadership shifts from solving every problem to helping other people solve them well.
- 05
Strong networks are built through generosity and genuine help, not only through asking for introductions.
